General
Are testnet coins worth anything?
No. Testnet coins have no value. Don’t buy or sell them. Anyone offering to is running a scam.
When is Mainnet?
Mainnet is planned for Q4 2026. No date has been set. Watch the roadmap and announcements.
Do testnet coins carry over to Mainnet?
No. Testnet rewards are a separate programme with its own rules, paid at Mainnet. See Bug bounty.
How is Zecnero related to Zcash?
Zecnero is a fork of Zcash built on Zebra, the Rust Zcash node. It keeps Zcash’s shielded pools and transaction format and changes proof of work, block time, supply schedule and network parameters. It is a separate network and is not affiliated with Zcash projects.

Was there a premine?
No. There is no premine and no dev fund. A 3% founder stream runs until the first halving. See Founder stream.
Mining
Can I mine with a GPU?
RandomX is designed for CPUs. GPUs are much less efficient at it.
My hashrate is lower than I expected

Windows flagged the miner as a virus

When do I get paid?
Pool payouts follow the pool’s PPLNS schedule and its minimum payout. Coinbase rewards need 100 blocks to mature first.
Wallet
My wallet won’t sync
The wallet uses node.zecnero.org by default. Check your internet connection and Discord for node status. You can also use your own node.
I lost my seed
Without the seed or the wallet file, the coins can’t be recovered. See Backups and seed safety.
Nodes
My node stopped syncing at a specific height
You are probably running pre-upgrade software. Compare the height with the upgrade list and update.
Can I prune the chain?
No. zecnerod keeps the full chain. See Disk and RAM sizing.
