Mining on Windows
Install from PowerShell:
irm https://downloads.zecnero.org/install.ps1 | iex
Then use the same zecnero-miner commands as on Linux.
Native binaries and WSL2
Native Windows mining binaries ship with the NU1 release. Native binaries are the recommended way to mine on Windows.
Mining inside WSL2 works but is slower. WSL2 runs in a lightweight virtual machine that can’t use Windows large pages or write CPU model-specific registers (MSR), and RandomX depends on both for full speed. See Performance tuning.
Confirm that native Windows mining binaries shipped with the NU1 release, and whether install.ps1 installs the native build or sets up WSL.
Antivirus warnings
Windows Defender and other antivirus tools often flag XMRig-based miners as unwanted software. This happens to every XMRig build because the same code is used in malware. Only download the miner from downloads.zecnero.org and check its signature and checksum before allowing it. See Verifying downloads.
Document the recommended way to add an antivirus exclusion for the miner folder, and the folder path install.ps1 uses.
Large pages on Windows
RandomX runs noticeably faster with large pages. On Windows this needs the "Lock pages in memory" user right, which XMRig can grant when run once as Administrator. A reboot or sign-out is needed afterwards.
Confirm whether install.ps1 or zecnero-miner handles the large pages privilege automatically.
