Mining troubleshooting

Start with:

zecnero-miner status
zecnero-miner logs

Most problems show up in the log.

The miner won’t connect to the pool​

  • Check that stratum.zecnero.org resolves and that outbound TCP port 3333 is allowed on your network.
  • Some networks block mining ports. Try a different connection to rule this out.
  • Check Discord for pool status announcements.

Shares are rejected​

  • Wrong algorithm. Make sure the miner uses the algorithm the network currently requires. After a network upgrade this can change; run zecnero-miner update.
  • Out of date miner. Update after every release announcement.
  • Clock drift. Make sure your system clock is synced.

Low hashrate​

See Performance tuning. The usual causes are missing huge pages, the MSR mod not applied, too many threads, or mining inside WSL2.

Antivirus removed the miner​

See Antivirus warnings.

"Invalid address"​

The payout address must be a valid Zecnero transparent address (starts with N) or Sapling address (starts with ns). See Address types.

Mined coins aren’t spendable yet​

Coinbase rewards mature after 100 blocks, about two hours at 75 seconds per block. Pool payouts also follow the pool’s own schedule.
